“I just can’t go on like this! What can
I do to change the situation? Is there any hope for
me?”
We hear this plea for
help every day at Agape Counseling Center. Troubles,
problems and concerns become so overwhelming that people
cannot resolve them alone. So, they turn to a counselor
or psychotherapist at times like this — someone
to help them deal more effectively with the situations
and conflicts that they are experiencing.
Yes, even Christians
need help with life’s problems. Being a disciple
of Jesus does not insure a life free from conflict.
However, being a child of God gives us access to strength
and power that others only dream of.
But where does a Christian
go for help? Many therapists do not understand spiritual
values. Some do not honor a Christian’s commitment
to God.
This is where Agape
Counseling Center is so useful in dealing with overwhelming
difficulties of life. We honor and use Christian principles
and values in therapy. Our goal and motto is: Compassionate
Counseling with a Christian Perspective.
When Jesus went to Nazareth
where he had been brought up, He went to the synagogue
on the Sabbath day. There He stood and read from the
prophet Isaiah:
“The Spirit
of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to
preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim
freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for
the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the
year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:16-21)
